SOUTHINGTON — Jersey Mike’s Subs opened Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and fundraiser kickoff.

Jersey Mike Regional Manager and Operating Partner Chad Faulkner has chosen “Where Angels Play Foundation” as the recipient of all funds raised during the September 7-11 fundraising event.

Where Angels Play strives to “pay it forward” by building playgrounds in schools in honor of notable people. The organization has built 58 playgrounds, 26 of which are dedicated to victims of Sandy Hook.

Each contribution will be donated to Christian Community Action in New Haven to help build a “desperately needed playground for families who have experienced homelessness and are looking for a better way of life,” the press release said. restaurant.

According to the press release, the “Kathy Carroll Playground” will be built to honor a Yale University professor who was “professionally dedicated to addiction treatment – who privately supported homeless children for more than two decades while that he was working at the university”.
