Central Mountain shut out Jersey Shore, limiting the Bulldogs to just two hits, as the Wildcats won 9-0. Central Mountain scored six runs in the second inning.

Both Karter Peacock and Gage Martzall had braces for the Bulldogs. Gabe Johnson and Cru Stover hit doubles for Central Mountain, which beat the Bulldogs, 5-2.

Brady Myers pitched 5 1/3 innings for Central Mountain, striking out eight and allowing just one hit. Jersey Shore’s Jerrin Loomis and Tyler Bauder each pitched three innings apiece, combining for eight strikeouts.

Bellefonte rallied in the seventh inning, scoring two runs to cut the deficit to one, but couldn’t score the draw or go-ahead as Philipsburg-Osceola escaped with a narrow 4-3 victory . Levi Purnell led the Raiders offensively in hitting a home run and making two runs.

Braedyn Kormanic, Alexander Ebeling, Josh Brown, Kenny Squires and Peyton Vancas all had singles. Derek Fravel pitched four innings for Bellefonte, striking out six, and Dominic Capparella pitched two relief innings and earned the loss.

• Central Mountain fended off a Bellefonte comeback, beating the Raiders 8-7. The Wildcats led 5-0 in the fifth inning before Bellefonte reduced the game to one run with four in the frame. After giving up the lead 7-5, Central Mountain missed three runs on four hits to regain the lead and left a runner locked in third after a starting triple in seventh.

Emma Shawley led Bellefonte going 3 for 3 and Sienna Barnhart (2 for 4) and Maria Cotter had extra hits with a triple and a double, respectively.

Central Mountain was led by Madison Wian, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and scored twice. Gracie Saar was 2 for 3 and Caitlyn Watson went 2 for 3 with three points.

• In the District 6 AAA Tag Team Tournament, Central Mountain lost to Hollidaysburg in the District semi-finals, 4-1. The Wildcats’ only victory came in singles No. 1 where David Lindsay beat Nathan Barton, 6-0, 6-0.

Central Mountain’s Ethan Hall fell to second in singles, 6-3, 6-4, and Asher Albot fell to second in singles, 6-0, 6-4.

The Wildcats play their last regular season game Thursday when they host Danville at 4 p.m.
