Minor League Baseball Jersey Shore BlueClaws will once again be the Jersey Shore “BruceClaws” in their annual tribute to Bruce Springsteen for the Saturday, July 23 game at ShoreTown Ballpark in Lakewood against the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets . .
The BruceClaws, uh, the BlueClaws, are the High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.
The BruceClaws will wear special Springsteen-inspired denim-style uniforms; Springsteen tribute band Asbury Fever will perform; and the “Born to Run…For Beer” promotion will feature registrants doing three laps of the track with a beer in hand. The winner will receive a prize package including a medal, a ceremonial first pitch and the chance to compete in the game with Buster in the back of the Toyota World of Lakewood Claws Crewser.

It’s the 14th BruceClaws party.
“We can’t wait for another BruceClaws night, consistently one of the best and most popular nights of the year,” BlueClaws team president Joe Ricciutti said in a statement. “The Jersey Shore Hometown team honors one of Jersey Shore’s hometown legends – you can’t beat that!”

Shore Town Ballpark is at 2 Stadium Way, Lakewood. It’s less than a mile from Lake Shenandoah, where many believe it to be the site of famous “Greasy Lake” from Springsteen’s classic, “Spirit in the Night.”
